in true forking belle style it seemed appropriate to welcome poppy the beautiful new pooch to the family with her very own baked treats! Oat, peanut butter, ham and cheese whole meal biscuits here we go… what more could a mental cheese loving doggy want after a long Saturday afternoon walkies!

Homemade Pooch Biscuits

Ingredients – home made dog biscuits

  1. 2 cups wholemeal self raising flour
  2. 3/4 cup of semi skimmed milk
  3. 1/2 cup of porridge oats
  4. pack of thin ham
  5. 2 handfuls of grated mild cheese
  6. 1 egg
  7. 1 cup of peanut butter (no additives)

 

How to make pooch-licous dog biscuits

  1. The ham needs to be dried out a little so dry fry the slices until just start to crisp up and then chop into pieces
  2. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, all hands in, just holding back half the cheese, until you get your dough
  3. Roll out to about 5mm thick and stamp away with your dog bone cookie cutter or any other of choice
  4. Lay the biscuit bones on a baking tray lined with baking parchment and sprinkle on the remaining cheese to some of the bones for a super special treat
  5. Bake for 15minutes at 160 oC, flip the biscuits over and bake for another 15minutes.  baked bones sheetThis will ensure that both sides are crispy and dog biscuit like
  6. Cool before letting your dogs have the ultimate treat and store the remainder in an airtight container
