After a bit of a blogging, digging and baking break due to a new house, I’ve come back for a gap between the painting to receive this fab award nomination for newbie bloggers from the lovely lifestyle unplugged. Thank you 🙂
The Liebster award is a way of bloggers recognising & supporting fellow small blogs/new bloggers for their efforts. Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, valued, lovely, endearing
Lifestyle unplugged asked me the following questions to share more information about forking belle and so here are my answers……
Other than bake, allotment, and eat chocolate! – I am learning to play the saxaphone (and enjoy playing disney songs -big kid), Ive recently started an evening Horticulture class and trying to get my head around Latin names, learning Thai chi, volunteering, watching films, travelling (Im targetting two new countries a year), and I love a bit of arts and crafts. I also have a rather unhealthy cook book obsession!
What was the last book you read?
Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee. Regardless of many dudd reviews (lets be fair it was never going to meet expectations of To Kill a Mockingbird so why compare it), I quite enjoyed the story of a grown up Scout and idols will always fall. I have been to busy to read a full book for the last few weeks but I also really enjoy National Geographic magazine with the shorter real life stories of adventure and amazing nature that I can squeeze into a lunch break.
what is your favourite food?
chocolate and more chocolate, with a bit of roast dinner thrown in
The Gambia. After recent trips to Kenya and The Gambia I feel really drawn to this amazing continent of complete beauty and nature, contrasted against shambles & extreme poverty, yet opportunism and happiness prevails.
what is your favourite season of the year?
Summer, I love the sunshine (if we get any!), the flowers and the harvest
Why did you begin blogging & how long have you been blogging for?
Just a few months, and just on a whim really after a terrible year I had found lots of comfort in my new allotment and baking, and after starting my 100 bake challenge I thought it was a good way to record it all. I had also found myself coming across quite a few blogs when I started typing strange allotment questions into google!
What is your favourite animal?
Pandas are my friends! I have chinese characters standing for panda inked on my foot and have spent time volunteering at a rescue centre in China which was fab. Im a big animal lover though and also love pigs, dogs, turtles, sharks and orcas. Sea life is a favourite in general and enjoy scuba diving on my hols, its such a different world. Cage diving with white sharks and seeing a dragon fish ‘under the sea’ are on my bucket list. I would encourage everyone to watch the Black Fish documentary. Orcas and dolphins in captivity, shark finning and fishing trawlers are big on my agenda of disapproval
What did you want to be when you grew up & did it work out that way?
Didnt have a clue & still dont other than I want to be David Attenborough! Always envied those that wanted to be doctors and teachers since they were 5! I fell into chemistry and Im still there wondering what the hell the world is all about…..
